Join leading women in the green building profession to discuss how technology, innovation, and shifts in values are reshaping the framework of sustainability. Explore how regenerative design is moving us beyond sustainable development and towards a restorative paradigm of development that is inclusive of the woman’s perspective. Join us for a tour of the Bullitt Center to explore first hand how living buildings are adopting regenerative technologies that allow them to become independent from the energy and water grid.

Panelists will discuss the new Urban Greenprint for the city of Seattle from Biomimicry Puget Sound, engineering living systems in buildings, and how traditional feminine values are helping us redefine the conversation about development from a balanced perspective.

Eva Otto, Owner of Infiniti Real Estate & Development

Eva Otto is the Owner/Broker at Infiniti Real Estate & Development and provides real estate services in the Seattle area, specializing in the green housing market. Eva is a LEED Accredited Professional and an Ecobroker. She holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Studies from the Evergreen State College. Prior to her work in green real estate Eva spent over ten years working on sustainability issues internationally in Brazil, India, Costa Rica & Japan. Focusing on community and economic development Eva helped prepare a policy agenda for the United Nations World Summit on Sustainable Development.  In addition to her passion for real estate, Eva runs a development company that envisions restoring the balance between human communities and the natural world.

Jennifer Barnes, CoFounder of Biomimicry Puget Sound and Principal of 55-5 Consulting

Jennifer is a deep green architect and sustainability consultant with over 20 years of project experience. She splits her professional life between her own design and consulting company, 55-5 Consulting, and her work on the Urban Greenprint, a project run through Biomimicry Puget Sound.  She has led the design of several buildings and has helped numerous project teams navigate LEED certification.  Jennifer works with a vision that successful projects must be inspired by an insightful understanding of place and must renew the human and ecological communities they touch.  She is committed to helping regenerative design become the norm and creating opportunities for meaningful connection with our environment.

Colleen Mitchell, Civil Engineer and Project Manager at 20/20 Engineering

Colleen is a Professional Civil Engineer and Project Manager for 2020 ENGINEERING.  She specializes in Low Impact Development (LID) site design and stormwater management as well as innovative water reuse and treatment systems.  Recent project work includes Net Zero Water and Ecological Water Flow systems for the Bertschi School and the Bullitt Center in Seattle’s Capitol Hill Neighborhood, as well as a comprehensive LID retrofit study for the Kingston area.  Colleen is the Chair of the Northwest Washington Branch Collaborative of the Cascadia Green Building Council, and serves on the Living Building and Deep Green Technical Advisory Group for the City of Seattle.
